Sunmi Lee

Sunmi Lee is a High Court Judge at the Daejeon High Court, serving since 2020. She holds a master’s and bachelor’s degree in law from Seoul National University, earned in 2010 and 2001 respectively. Prior to her current position, she served as a judge at the Seoul Central District Court (2017–2020) and the Seoul Family Court (2009–2017), and was a Research Fellow at the Judicial Policy Research Institute from 2018 to 2020.

Judge Lee is an accomplished legal scholar, authoring key publications such as Annotated Civil Act, Family Law (7th edition, 2025) and the Family Court Practice & Procedure Manual (2021). Since her appointment as a judge in 2005, she has contributed extensively to family law practice and judicial policy in Korea.
