Sung Soo Jun
Mayor, Seocho-gu
Sung Soo Jun is the Mayor of Seocho District in Seoul and a veteran public administrator with decades of service in both central and local government. He holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration from the University of Seoul, as well as a master’s and bachelor’s degree from Seoul National University. He has held senior positions such as Director of Administration at the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Spokesperson for the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and Senior Administrative Officer at the Office of the President. He also represented Korea as Consul General to Thailand and served as Vice Mayor and Acting Mayor of Incheon Metropolitan City.
Mayor Jun has played an active role in national policy development, including his contribution to the Presidential Transition Committee as an Advisory Member for the National Unity Committee. His leadership has been widely recognized with several national honors, including the Prime Minister’s Commendation for Outstanding Public Service (1996), the Green Stripes Order of Service Merit (2007), and the Korea Anti-Corruption and Integrity Award (2023). He continues to promote transparent governance, citizen-centered administration, and innovative urban policy in Seocho District.
