Jiyong Jang
Director General for International Cooperation, National Court Administration
Jiyong Jang has been serving as the Director General for International Cooperation at the National Court Administration since 2025. In 2023, he worked as a Legal Operations Consultant for the World Bank Group. From 2021 to 2025, he served as a judge at the Suwon High Court, and from 2020 to 2021, he was the Presiding Judge at the Changwon District Court, Tongyeong Branch. He also gained international experience as a judge on secondment at the Permanent Bureau of the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH) from 2016 to 2017, and has held various judicial and research positions in district courts and judicial policy institutes.
He holds an LL.B., LL.M., and has completed Ph.D. coursework (ABD) in law at Seoul National University. Additionally, he was a visiting scholar at Duke University Law School in 2013 and at George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School in 2023.
