Hye Won Mok

Associate Professor Hye Won Mok is a respected legal scholar at Korea University School of Law, currently pursuing her S.J.D. degree at the same institution. She has enriched her academic experience as a visiting scholar at Harvard Law School’s East Asian Legal Studies program and at Pepperdine University’s Caruso School of Law. Professor Mok holds both a J.D. and a Bachelor of Law from Korea University. Her diverse professional background includes serving as a judge at multiple courts, including the Cheonan Branch Court of Daejeon District, Seoul Central District Court, and Seoul Southern District Court, as well as practicing law at the prominent firm Kim, Chang, Lee.
Professor Mok’s scholarly contributions focus on private law and international commercial arbitration. She has published influential articles on topics such as the necessity for preservation in subrogation rights and the distinction between substance and procedure in arbitration, featured in leading Korean law journals. Her experience also extends to judicial support through her role as a law clerk at the Seoul High Court’s Special Division for international trade, underlining her comprehensive expertise in both academic and practical legal fields.
