Géradine Goh Escolar

Dr Gérardine Goh Escolar is Deputy Secretary General of the Permanent Bureau of the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH). She leads the Division on International Commercial, Digital and Financial Law (CODIFI), overseeing key projects related to the digital economy, financial law, and new technologies. Before assuming her current role, she served as First Secretary at the HCCH, managing portfolios across the organization’s areas of work, including family law, cross-border litigation, and commercial law.
She previously practiced as counsel and consultant in international litigation and arbitration, and held legal positions at the Iran-US Claims Tribunal, the International Court of Justice, and within the German government. Dr Goh Escolar has advised on cases involving international and private international law, with a focus on technology, sustainability, and policy. She is also an adjunct professor at the National University of Singapore and has held academic roles at institutions including the University of Cambridge and the University of Leiden. She holds a doctorate from the University of Leiden, an LL.M. from University College London, and an LL.B. from the National University of Singapore. She is admitted to the New York Bar.
