Minho Do

Judge on Secondment to the HCCH

Minho Do currently serves as a Judge on Secondment to the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH). Prior to his appointment in August 2024, he served in various judicial roles within the Korean judiciary, including as a judge at the Busan Bankruptcy Court, Busan Family Court, Seoul Northern District Court, and Seoul Central District Court. Judge Do brings to his international post a strong foundation in both private and public international law, reinforced by his legal education at Seoul National University, where he earned both his Bachelor of Law and Master of Law with a focus on international law.

His academic work reflects a deep engagement with international legal issues, particularly the intersection of international law and domestic judicial practice. He has published extensively in Korean legal journals on topics such as diplomatic immunity, the provisional application of treaties, and the impact of international criminal law on domestic courts. His combined practical experience and scholarly contributions position him as a significant voice in the evolving discourse on the role of domestic courts in the implementation of international legal norms.
