Seung-ryun Lee
President, Judicial Policy Research Institute
Seung-ryun Lee is the President of the Judicial Policy Research Institute (JPRI) of Korea, a position he assumed in February 2025. With a distinguished judicial career spanning over three decades, he has served in various key roles, including Presiding Judge at both the Busan High Court (2013–2015) and the Seoul High Court (2015–2017, 2021–2025). He also held senior administrative positions, notably as Chief of the Planning and Coordination Office at the National Court Administration from 2017 to 2019.
Mr. Lee holds a Bachelor of Laws from Seoul National University, earned in 1988. His leadership in civil law adjudication was especially prominent during his tenure as Chief Presiding Judge of the Civil Division at the Seoul Central District Court (2019–2021). Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his commitment to judicial reform, effective court administration, and the advancement of legal policy in Korea.
