The Republic of Korea will host the 2025 HCCH Asia Pacific Week in Seoul, jointly organized by the Ministry of Justice, Korea Private International Law Association, The Judicial Policy Research Institute, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Korean Institute of Criminology and Justice, National Center for the Rights of the Child, and Seocho-gu Office. As an active Member of the HCCH, Korea looks forward to welcoming participants from across the Asia-Pacific Region and beyond.

 

We kindly invite those interested in attending the HCCH Asia Pacific Week to consult the attached schedule of activities and to complete the registration form. Simultaneous interpretation between Korean and English will be available during the meeting. For those unable to attend in person, the event will also be accessible via a one-way online broadcast. Those who wish to attend online are kindly requested to fill out the 『online participation form』. A participation link will be shared with those who have expressed interest at a later date. Please note that in-person participation is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Early registration is highly recommended.

 

The objectives of HCCH Asia Pacific Week are to introduce relevant Hague Conventions to the wider of Asia-Pacific Region, to share and exchange information on Convention-related practices and experiences; and to strengthen cooperation amongst participating States. Through multiple sessions held over three days, HCCH Asia Pacific Week will act as a forum for the exchange of ideas and viewpoints from across Asia and the Pacific on some of the most prominent HCCH Conventions and Instruments, as well as on the HCCH’s ongoing normative projects and possible future work, in the areas of transnational litigation and legal cooperation, international family and child protection law, and commercial, digital and financial law. HCCH Asia Pacific Week will provide a unique opportunity for participants to learn more about the HCCH and its work, to engage with experts from across Asia and the Pacific, and to consider regional experiences and perspectives.
